Nina is coming back to Pittsburgh!
Nina Tatarowicz is one of tango's new generation of dancers. Captivated by it's soulful expression as a partner dance, she moved to Buenos Aires in 2001 to deepen her study of the art form. During her time in Buenos Aires, she was recognized as an up and coming dancer of the new generation, offering her the opportunity to become one of the few instructors to teach in BsAs from outside of Argentina. She taught at Tango Elite Argentino and Tango Brujo studios, and performed in acclaimed venues such as the Teatro Avenida in 2004, and El Cubo and Teatro Solis in 2008. Her extensive experience studying with tango masters such as Chicho Frumboli, Eugenia Parrilla, Pablo Villarraza and Dana Frigoli, Melina Brufman, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa, and Gustavo Naveira, led her to develop a clear technique and teaching method accessible to all. Workshop Descriptions
Each workshop will be divided into 3 parts:
Part I: Individual Technique + Musicality: Focus is on expression of movement without having to worry about a precise lead + follow. More emphasis is placed on body awareness, follower technique and leader musicality.
Part II: Connection + Sequence: Now that each individual has a stronger sense of their own body expression, emphasis is put on the lead + follow technique, understanding the structure of a pattern and dancing together to the music.
Part III: Practice: Feeling how the movement fits into the line of dance, exploring different ways to get in and out of a movement and improvisation of the theme.
