Edmond was exposed to a large variety of music from both visiting and local DJs in Ann Arbor. DJing regularly at different events in Ann Arbor has allowed him to develop a rich style full of rhythmical presence and lyrical complexity. Throughout the night, Edmond manages the flow of energy to enhance the dancers' connection by being versatile and attentive. He keeps the crowd energized with playful cortinas and by strategically infusing subtle contrast in his music.



Micaela Colleen Barrett

Cleveland, OH

Micaela, founder of The Cleveland Tango School, DJ's frequently from coast-to-coast, focusing largely on danceable tunes from tango's Golden Age. Over the course of an evening she works to create a warm energetic environment while keeping a constant finger on the pulse of the room. Currently based in Cleveland, OH, every day Micaela is teaching, performing, and working to foster tango communities in the Rust Belt and beyond. She has instructed and collaborated with the dancers of Oberlin University, The Movement Project; New York City's Hunter College Tango Club, You Should Be Dancing, and the Piel Canela Dance Company.


Angel Montero

Atlanta, GA

Angel started DJing locally and regionally in 2004, and over the years he has become one of the most sought after DJs in the country. He has been the DJ of choice for many special events in the Southeast, and now he is being invited to DJ in festivals all over the country, like Denver, Ann Arbor, Austin, Kansas City, Tangosutra (Washington, DC), Puerto Rico, Tampa, Cleveland, Maratonazo (NYC), Los Angeles, Ithaca, Boston, Dallas and Tango Element (Baltimore, MD). Angel usually favors rhythmic music (D'Arienzo rocks) but he pays close attention to the energy he gets form the dance floor. Most importantly, he does not believe in "killing the milonga", he always wants you to go home wanting more.



Adam Ashton Hoopengardner

New York, NY

The DJ is responsible for more than just the selection of the music and the order of the tandas. The DJ creates the atmosphere of the party. The DJ is the party. In over 12 years of playing at milongas around the world Adam has cultivated a style that will provide inspiring energy all evening. He believes in DJing for everyone, every dancer, therefore he likes to play from different eras throughout the evening however always returning to the golden when the time is right. No one can deny the perfect D'Arienzo tanda at the right moment. Adam is a mainstay DJ in the New York City community and has spent countless hours being exposed to different styles of play from the milongas of Buenos Aires to the festivals and more local events in North America and Europe. He won't scare you too much but just enough to keep the night interesting.


Valentin Kuznetsov

Ithaca, NY

Valentin has dozens of years of tango experience. While progressing through his tango life he has had the chance to observe and learn from DJs around the globe, participated in various DJ discussion groups and constantly discovers new tango tunes. Valentin creates an unique atmosphere on the dance floor by carefully selecting golden hits and uncovers charming tango tracks suitable for every style.
