Pittsburgh Tango Fierro-Federico Naveira & Sabrina Masso

Federico & Sabrina are coming to Pittsburgh for the first time! 


Federico Naveira was raised among the highest qualified dancers and teachers of Argentine tango, what made him one of the top exponents of the Argentine tango youth in Argentina and the rest of the world. At the age of 10—together with his sister Ariadna Naveira—he started to assist at the classes organized by his mother and dance instructor Olga Besio. This opportunity gave him a rich experience and prepared him as dance instructor, and since then he has never stopped dancing and teaching. In 2008, together with other young instructors and dancers, Federico has founded “Postango” dance studio, a platform that gave him a new advantage point in his career this time as organizer and director. From 2008 to 2011, participated as teacher and dancer in very renowned international festivals: G & G's Tango Festival, Austin Spring Tango Festival, Berlin Tango Festival, Istanbul Tango Festival, CITA, Festival Estilo Parque Patricios, etc. He is also one of the founders at Tango Generations Show Cast.

Sabrina Masso toured numerous venues in the world. She was part of companies like For Ever Tango, Tango Passion, O'tango and Tanguera among others, performing with great professionalism. Her vast experience and virtuosity made her also to be required to participate in numerous European festivals where she highlighted showing also her mastery of the dance track, showing skill and beauty with a taste for the traditional "walk" of tango and figures in close embrace. She joined the “Tango Generations” show in January 2012.

Born in Lincoln, Buenos Aires. She discovered the tango at age 18 in the city of Rosario. Since then it has formed with the most recognized tango teachers of the country. He also studied modern dance, ballet and contact improvisation, and has been part in several investigation groups in body work. Is important to note that Marina is also Music therapist and Yoga instructor.

Since she moved to Buenos Aires in 2007, has taught regular lessons of tango and perform in recognized studios and milongas of the city, including Viva la Pepa Milonga, Practica X, Tango Brujo, Salón Canning, El Esquinazo and Milonga 10, amoung others.

For the last four years, she´s been working as a dancer and teacher in diferent countries like United States, Canada, México, Poland and China, where she has also participated in renowned festivals.

As a Performer she stands out for her refined technique, precision and expressiveness. Her knowledge of other artistic disciplines gives her a very personal style in the dancing. Respecting the traditional tango essence, she also dominates the most contemporary elements of this dance.

As a professional tango teacher she is clear and accurate in the technical concepts, and transmite her knowledge in a simple way, giving the students the necessary elements to express themselves freely.

Proprioception development through practice.

Build a sensitive and awake body. Recognize and master tone changes in the body and use them effectively.

Train the body in using bony and muscular chains, find the possibility of joint movement, allowing us to create internal spaces in the embrace and creating a clear and fluid communication with the other. A conscious presence in the very movement that translates into a full and with no stress embrace

SATURDAY, APRIL 11TH –“TANGO SEMINAR"

This progressive series of seminars aims to work both technical and formal aspects of the dance, taking as a main shaft the proprioception, working on it through practice, seeking to build a sensitive and awake body. A conscious presence on the own movement that translates into a full and with no stress embrace.

We will work both individually and in pairs, so it is not necessary (but recommended) assisting partner.

Saturday classes are separated by different topics and walking-ins are welcome in each class, we encourage students to participate in all 3 classes as part of the progressive series.
