ALL PGH TANGO ACTIVITIES ARE CANCELED

Dear Pittsburgh Tango Community,

We have been following the information that has been unfolding daily in regards to COVID-19. Because the updates are rapidly changing the nature of the COVID-19 situation, this is being handled with sensitivity and as the situation progresses.

PGH Tango Connection is suspending all events until further notice. That includes classes, Milongas, Practicas, and upcoming workshops with Gaby and Ines. Our hope is to restart activities in April, as long as it is safe. Private lessons with Chewy and Yulia are still available.

For those individuals who made deposits for the workshops and prepaid for March sessions, we will be contacting you with the information on reimbursements.

We are joining the efforts with the worldwide tango community. While social distance is recommended by health officials as one of the more effective measures for fighting the spread, it’s important, now more than ever, to practice self-care and mindfulness for ourselves and compassion and understanding for others:

  • “Every hand that we don’t shake must become a phone call that we place”.

  • “Every embrace that we avoid must become a verbal expression of warmth and concern”.

  • “Every inch and every foot that we physically place between ourselves and another, must become a thought as to how we might be of help to that other, should the need arise.”

 -Rabbi Yosef Kanefsky

Sincerely,

Koichiro, Yulia & Sofia

CANCELED - Pittsburgh Tango Intensive with Ines Muzzopappa & Gaby Mataloni

Pittsburgh Tango Intensive with Ines Muzzopappa & Gaby Mataloni. Since 2018, Inés and Gaby have started to work together teaching in different milongas in Buenos Aires. Though in their individual working paths they have been mainly focused in the interpreter’s role as performers before, they have also been actively studying and investigating the role of the proposition for the last few years, considering it more than useful for teaching, dancing, thinking and living Tango. Inés and Gaby connected deeply and found a strong coincidence in their pedagogic approach to the Tango teaching, always prioritizing an investigational process for helping and enabling students to find their own ways for dancing and expressing themselves, within the language of Tango and with all the technical resources at hand.
